ZLA would like to extend their sincere, heartfelt condolences to the Kaunda family and the nation on the passing of Zambia’s first and founding President, Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda. He passed away in Lusaka, Zambia on June 17th, 2021 at the age of 97.

This saddens our hearts at ZLA as President Kaunda was an advocate of our purpose and supported us from our inception. His message to us was to remain united and told us the following. One Zambia One Nation, One Nation One Africa, One Africa One World, One World One Revolution.

Being in Atlanta, ZLA has had the opportunity to engage with the MLK family who speak fondly about President Kaunda. For Atlantans, he will forever be a symbol of unity and liberation for Zambians and friends of Zambia.

In memory of Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda, the ZLA Foundation would like to share the following video in remembrance of his involvement with our community here in Atlanta, as well as other Zambians in the diaspora.

Wishing you and your families well,
Members of the ZLA Foundation
