Ellen Banda-Aaku is a UK born Zambian writer. She has published six books for children and two novels. Her debut novel Patchwork won the Penguin Prize for African Writing, was short listed for the Commonwealth Book Prize and has been translated into German. She was the overall winner of the Commonwealth Short Story Prize in 2007 and won the Macmillan Writers Prize for Africa in 2003. Ellen who is based between Zambia and UK has over the years facilitated Creative Writing workshops in Ghana, Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda South Africa and Zambia. She has a BA in Public Administration from the University of Zambia, an MA in Social Policy & Financial Management from Middlesex University in the UK, and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Cape Town. She is currently trying her hand at script writing!

Mukuka Chipanta – I’m an author and aerospace engineer who was born in a mining town called Kitwe on the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. I spent my formative years in my home country before leaving to study Engineering in the United Kingdom. I have since had the opportunity of travelling widely and living on three continents.
